How do I make a how to video for my product?

A short how to clip answers the question customers ask before they buy: how does it work? The How to tutorial preset turns your steps into one continuous take of a presenter using the product and talking to camera.

The presenter does exactly the steps you write, nothing invented, so the script is where the time goes.

What you need

  • Product photos

    Optional

    Clear photos of the product being shown. It appears exactly as shown. You can skip this if you describe it below.

  • What is the product?

    Required

    Name it, what it is made of and roughly how big it is.

  • The steps

    Required

    Three to five real steps, one short line each, in order. The presenter does exactly these, nothing made up.

  • Who is on camera?

    Optional

    Pick a stock presenter and they look the same in every take. Or use one of your own characters. Skip it and we cast someone.

  • Who is on camera?

    Only if you picked Use my character above: choose the saved character who is on camera.

  • Where is it filmed?

    Optional

    The room or place the presenter is in. Skip it and we choose.

  • How long?

    Optional

    One continuous clip. Keep it to three steps for 10 seconds.

Step by step

  1. Write the steps

    Three to five real steps, one short line each, in order. Keep it to three steps for the shorter clip.

  2. Open the preset and describe the product

    Open How to tutorial, name the product, say what it is made of and roughly how big it is. Add clear photos of it if you have them, or use Import from a link with your product page.

  3. Pick who is on camera

    Choose a stock presenter, who looks the same in every take, or pick Use my character and choose one of your own saved characters.

  4. Pick the room and the length

    Choose where it is filmed, such as a kitchen, a bathroom or a home office, and how long the clip runs.

  5. Create

    The clip renders on Hailuo 3. It lands in the chat and in your Library, ready to post or to cut in Studio.

Does the presenter follow my steps exactly?
Yes. The presenter does the steps you write, in order, and the preset does not add claims or steps you did not give it.
Can I be the presenter?
Yes. Save yourself as a character on the Characters page, then pick Use my character on the presenter step.
How long is the clip?
One continuous clip at the length you pick on the last step. Keep to three steps for the shorter length.
Which model makes it?
How to tutorial runs on Hailuo 3, which renders speech and holds the presenter's face across the take.
Can I add captions or cut it with other clips?
Yes. Open the clip in Studio, the timeline editor, to add titles, trim it or cut it together with other clips.
