AI video pricing explained: what one clip costs

Four things set the price of a clip, you see it before you press Generate, and most of the ways to spend less are about when you pick the expensive tier.

  • 7 min read

An AI video clip on NOLGIA is priced in credits by four things: the model, the length, the quality tier and, on some models, sound or a video you send in. You see the price for your exact settings on the Generate button before you press it, and a render that fails, or that a filter refuses before the provider bills it, is refunded.

This post explains each of the four, shows every main video model's rate read live from the price list, and ends with the habits that cut a project's cost. What a credit costs depends on your plan and top-ups, and is on the pricing page.

The four things that set the price

  1. The model. Each model has its own rate, because each provider charges differently for its compute.
  2. The length. Video rates are quoted for a 5 second clip, and a longer clip costs proportionally more.
  3. The quality tier. Most models have several tiers, such as 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K. Higher tiers cost more on most models, and the top one is often marked premium.
  4. Sound and inputs. Some models charge extra to add sound, and some charge more when you send them a video of yours to work from.

Images, voice and music are priced differently, covered below. Nothing is charged for reading a price: a quote from the API creates no job and holds nothing.

Quality tiers: what the extra spend buys

A tier sets the size of the picture the model renders. We rendered one prompt on Kling v3 at 1080p and at 4K and measured the files: the 4K file is a real 3840 by 2160 picture with more detail, and that detail is small. It shows when you crop, zoom or watch on a 4K screen. On a phone, the 1080p render carried the picture.

1080p

4K

Made with Kling v3, the same prompt at two tiers. The measurements are in Seedance 2.5 at 1080p or Seedance 2.0 Pro at 4K.

Tiers do not always scale the same way. Veo 3.1 costs the same at 720p and 1080p, so take 1080p; Veo 3.1 Fast and Lite charge more for 1080p. Seedance 2.5 renders its 1080p tier only in 16:9 and 9:16. The composer shows each tier's price for the length you set, and narrows the frame shapes to what the tier renders.

Sound, and a video of yours as input

  • Sound as an add-on. Kling v3, Kling v3 Pro and Seedance 1.5 Pro render sound only when you turn it on, and it adds to the price.
  • Sound included. Veo 3.1 and Hailuo 3 always render sound and speech, and it is in their rate.
  • A video in. Seedance 2.5 and FLUX 3 Video can take a video of yours to reference, edit or extend, at a higher rate than a prompt alone. A Seedance 2.5 edit is billed at the length of your source clip.

Tip:Make the score separately. Music made on the audio page is one flat charge per track and can run under every shot. It is often cheaper than sound on every clip, and you can move it against the cut.

The plan decides what you can run

Credits pay for a render; the plan decides which models you can run. The flagship video models, including Seedance 2.5, Kling v3, Veo 3.1 and Hailuo 3, need Pro or above, and topping up credits does not unlock them on a lower plan. Each model page and each row in the table above says which plan it needs. New accounts start with 350 free credits, no card required.

What one finished thing costs on each plan is on the pricing page.

When you pay, and when you get it back

When you press Generate, the job holds its price while it works. Delivery turns the hold into the charge. A render that fails for a technical reason releases the hold, and a render a content filter refuses is refunded unless the provider billed us for the attempt. A render you cancel before it reaches the provider is refunded in full.

The details are in How credits work, Refused renders are refunded unless the provider billed them and What happens when you cancel a render.

Spend less on the same result

  • Draft low, finish high. Settle the prompt and the camera on the cheapest tier or on a Fast or Lite model, then render the keeper once at the tier you deliver.
  • Keep clips short. Price scales with length. Several 5 second shots cut together usually cost less than one long take you trim.
  • Test the hardest shot first. One clip per model on the shot that stresses your subject most, like the drive-by in A car commercial with AI, before you commit the whole project.
  • Change a layer, not the render. Text hooks typed in Studio cost nothing; see 100 ad variations from one master.
  • Fix the one thing that is wrong. Swapping one object with Miroge keeps the shot you already paid for; see A clip came out wrong.
  • Cancel early. A render still waiting for a slot at the provider is refunded in full when you cancel it.

Questions and answers

How much does a 5 second AI video cost?
It depends on the model and the tier. The table on this page reads every main model's rate live, and the Generate button shows the exact price of your settings before you run.
Do I pay for a render that fails?
No. A technical failure releases the hold, and a refusal is refunded unless the provider billed us for the attempt. The job tells you which happened.
Does sound cost extra?
On some models. Kling v3, Kling v3 Pro and Seedance 1.5 Pro add to the price when sound is on; Veo 3.1 and Hailuo 3 always include it.
What is a credit worth in dollars?
It depends on your plan and on top-ups. The pricing page shows what each plan includes and what one finished thing costs on it.
